Leaving a message with your information on answering machines, it is like leaving a "voice" business card...

SAMPLE SCRIPT

Hello my name is _____________ and I am an Independent Sales Representative for AVON We are looking for people in the area who might be interested in buying AVON Products or earning extra money by selling AVON Products. (Pause for a response).

If there is no answer I ask "Do you currently have an Avon Representative?"...

If yes, ask "Are you satisfied with her service?  Or have you ever been approached by her to start selling Avon yourself?"...

I would never steal a customer or try to recruit some ones customer...I tell the recruit to "let the Representative know if you are in need of anything" and tell them to have a great day!

If they answer that they don't have a Representative ask "Well, would you be interested in receiving brochures from a neighborhood representative? Or would you be more interested in learning how you can become a Representative yourself?"

Wait for callers response.

If they want to be a customer, tell them you will drop off a book in the next day or two along with a few samples.

If they want to hear about selling, start giving them some basic information about how AVON sells itself if they just get the brochures out and to let everyone they know know they sell Avon...  continue from here...

If they are not interested I tell them to have a good day.

You can  go around to businesses in the area, write down the names, then go home and look up the phone #. Then, they call, and say that they are the Mary Kay Consultant or AVON Rep, etc. for the area, and _______(fill in the blank, Tuesday, Monday, even This week or next week,) is Business Appreciation Day( or Week) in Mary Kay or AVON, etc. Would it be ok if we brought by some goodies for the office?  Then, find out their most non-busy time of day, and get the person's name you are talking to. They take some cookies or brownies, and a nice gift bag with pretty tissue and maybe even a balloon attached - with a few nice samples for your contact, then they have a bag with a couple look books, and just a few samples - hand creams, tanning lotions, etc. for others. Obviously, this will cost a little - depending on the wrapping, cookies ,etc. But girls, they are 
having EXTREME results!  First off, you have their permission to 'warm chatter', because you called first, second, you know they are professionals - that normally are very interested in their complexion and appearance. They get them to fill out the skin care survey, and then leave. They don't get into too much there at the office, you want to make it a fairly quick visit. Then they call back in a couple of days and say they were so excited to meet them and could they 'borrow their face' for a complimentary makeover - no obligation. NOONE has said NO yet to them!! And it's easy to get these women to turn it into a class, because they work in an environment with all the other women. Some are even booking at the office after working hours!
